A very limited Father’s Day release.
For Father’s Day only, we have brought together two tools made for dads who like to cook with fire. Lennox Hastie’s Fire Oven Set and Hayden Scott’s Vintage Sawblade Flip.
Both are made to last. Both begin as something else.
The Fire Oven Set turns recycled iron into four precision pieces that interlock six ways. The Sawblade Flip turns 100-year-old high-carbon sawblade steel into a handmade tool for lifting, loosening and turning.
Both are made by hand, made to be used, and made to be handed down.
Delivery Note: The Sawblade Flip will be with Dad for Father’s Day. His Fire Oven will follow from the foundry in September. Email us after purchase and we’ll send you a printable card for the day, telling him what we’re making just for him.
Available only for Father’s Day, in very limited numbers.
The Fire Oven and Sawblade Flip come from two different workshops, but they share the same thinking.
Both are made to last. Both begin as something else.
The Fire Oven Set was designed with Lennox Hastie to bring the ancient flavour of fire to modern cooking. Handmade from recycled iron, four precision pieces interlock to create six pieces of cookware. A bread oven. A slow roaster. A smoker. A steamer. A Dutch oven. And a skillet with a detachable handle.
The Vintage Sawblade Flip brings Hayden Scott’s knife-making craft to one of the simplest tools in the kitchen. Each one begins with high-carbon steel from a 100-year-old sawblade, handpicked for its strength, flex and feel. Hayden cuts, heats, shapes and finishes each one by hand in his West Auckland workshop, before fitting a pūriri handle with brass pins.
The steel once belonged to tools people sharpened, cared for and kept. The iron has already had a life before it reaches the foundry.
For Father’s Day, we have brought them together.
Recycled iron. Vintage steel. Native timber. Two useful objects made slowly, made to gather the marks of cooking, and made to be handed down.
Five pieces. Two makers. One very limited Father’s Day bundle.

Base: Big enough for family meals. Thin enough to lift when full. Use separately or add the lid for a Dutch oven, wood oven or bread oven.
Lid / Skillet: No pesky knob means more versatility. Attach to the base and cook either way up. Or use separately as a second skillet. A detachable handle allows for easy, cool lifting from fire, stove or oven.
Bale Handle: The handmade handle fits the whole set. Locks easily to lift the base or lid from the flames. Remove it to keep the handle cool on induction, BBQ or in the oven.
Serving Trivet / Smoker: Beautiful on the table. Unmatched over heat. The tree-ring design pays tribute to fire cooking. Each ring is precisely spaced to smoke and steam evenly.
Vintage Sawblade Flip: A precision tool made from an old one.
