A precision tool made from tools.

Handmade to order by Champion knife maker Hayden Scott, our limited edition Sawblade Flip brings knife-making craft to the kitchen tool we use every day, replace often, and rarely think about.

The flip.

Made from the high-carbon steel of 100-year-old sawblades, each one begins with vintage steel handpicked for its strength, flex, and feel.

Before crafting begins, Hayden searches Trade Me, yard sales, op shops and markets for old sawblades. Tools people used to keep, sharpen and care for. Steel good enough to keep for generations.

Once Hayden gets his find home, the vintage saws are cut, heated, shaped and finished by hand in his West Auckland home studio.

The pūriri handle is fixed with brass pins, then polished until wood and steel meet cleanly in the hand.

The design comes from our handmade Pan Paddle, narrowed and angled to fit the edges of Ironclad pans. A shape made for clean lifting, loosening, turning and flipping.

Handmade to be handed down. No plastic. No coatings. Just vintage steel, native wood, copper, wax and time.

Collector’s edition. Each Sawblade Flip is made to order after purchase. This is not an open run. Orders close on 14 June at midnight or earlier if we run out of blades.

A HIGHER STANDARD

Local cookware regulations fall short
so we test to the strictest global ones.

ANY RECIPE. ANY HEAT.

The more a piece of cookware can do,
the less reason there is to replace it.
